WHO NEEDS A COAT?

CUSTOM ORDERS
Greyhounds, Whippets, Great Danes, Doberman Pinchers, Chihauhaus, Chinese Cresteds, Manchester Terriers, Smooth Fox Terriers and Pittbulls require coats. Dogs with a low body fat ratio and little or no under-fur truly suffer without winter apparel. They are “in need” when it approaches 32 degrees and “at risk” in extreme weather.
Any dog with a smooth, slight coat and little body fat, all recuperating, ill, elderly dogs should be evaluated when outside. Watch them. Observe.
Do they balk at going outside when it is cold?
Do they have ‘accidents’ inside during the winter?
Do they shiver outside?
Do they stay outside long enough to do all of their duties?
Do they stay outside long enough to get proper exercise?
If you are piling on coats, hats, gloves consider if your inside living friend
needs some stylish warmth.
Small dogs with lots of coat such as Maltese, Yorkies, Toy Poodles and Shih Tzus benefit from a coat even if they have hair to the floor, because they don't produce enough heat to keep them fully charged on long walks. Pomeranians, Pekingese, Cocker Spaniels and dogs with similar coats seem protected but may need a coat especially if clipped short. Large dogs who have a double coat like Labs and Border Collies, BUT who spend all day inside might need some extra heat on long walks.
It could be that your furry fashionista is just desiring a coat!
Every dog can use an After Bath Robe.
